SAP HackFest'26

🎯 Finalist

What happens when you stop trying to predict failure and start preparing for it? That was the idea we carried from Round 1 to the Grand Finale of SAP HackFest'26, a North India regional hackathon. We started among 200+ teams at Chitkara, made the Top 10, and presented MYCEL at Chandigarh University: AI agents that run worst-case scenarios on a supply chain and find the alternative paths before anything breaks.

MYCEL

  • An AI organisation that hires itself

Describe a business and Maya, the hiring agent, assembles only the specialists the problem needs, from a workforce of 22 across six teams.

  • A full supply network, designed

Every node, lane, cost, lead time, risk score and fallback path, drawn as an interactive map you can question with "Ask the Architect".

  • It argues with itself

Cost, resilience and operations strategists debate over four rounds, then a validator attacks the final design to find single points of failure.

  • Prepared for the worst

A live monitor watches news, disasters, weather and tariffs. When something hits the network, the agents reconvene and re-route it on their own.

  • Humans stay in charge

ArmorIQ pauses an agent for human approval before it contacts anyone outside the system.

[04]Side quests

  • Hiring 22 people in a day

On 1 September the commit log reads like an HR file: "ravi skills done", "noor skills added", "leena done", "arjun done", and at 5:51 PM, "I'm done with halena". 😮‍💨

    HR log
  • CORS, then CoRS

3:00 AM: "CORS error fixes". 3:04 AM: "CoRS error fixes". Four minutes and one capital letter later, it worked. 🫠

    Fixed ×2
  • The fifth teammate

Some commits in the log aren't from any of us. They're from v0, Vercel's AI, and every one came in as a pull request that I merged.

  • From 200+ to the Top 10

Round 1 was on home ground at Chitkara. The finale meant a trip to Chandigarh University and a seat in a red-velvet auditorium. 🎟️

[05]Plot twist

MYCEL started life as KIBBUTZ. 🍄

The pixel office, under new management.
The pixel office, under new management.

Then 😱

Two days after the Noida final, MYCEL's first commit landed: the entire KIBBUTZ codebase, with the name in the README swapped. Same office, same agents, a new company to run. 🏢

Now 🧠

The second commit was "all privisous team removed": 388 files and 17,703 lines deleted. Then 22 new specialists moved in, built for one job, supply chains. Good architecture outlives its first idea; the old team just has to clear out their desks. 📦

For an SAP hackathon, the most important commit was two words in capitals at 4:20 AM: "SAP INTEGRATION". By 5:11 the monitor was "fully active", and at 5:32 came the most honest commit message ever written: "fix". 🫡

“MYCEL taught me the line from our pitch: when one path breaks, find another. It's true for supply chains, and it was true for us. A codebase from a finished hackathon became the foundation for the next one, and that one made the Top 10.”
