What happens when you stop trying to predict failure and start preparing for it? That was the idea we carried from Round 1 to the Grand Finale of SAP HackFest'26, a North India regional hackathon. We started among 200+ teams at Chitkara, made the Top 10, and presented MYCEL at Chandigarh University: AI agents that run worst-case scenarios on a supply chain and find the alternative paths before anything breaks.

What if AI agents had to get real jobs? We built KIBBUTZ, an autonomous AI company: give it a goal and it hires AI employees, delegates, builds and ships, all inside a live pixel-art office. The catch was the ArmorIQ track's real question: who authorised that action? 67 teams entered the track, 15 were invited to the final at the Microsoft office in Noida, and we were one of them.

Two hours, one theme, a full frontend. Ours was "Open-World Game Companion", and we built AETHERIA: a cinematic portal that opens on a floating 3D island and descends, in one scroll, into four worlds of maps, relics, legends and trades. We thought first, planned, designed, then built. And we took first place. 🥇

Two hours to build a complete product, frontend and backend. Bhavishya and I built PlungePhoenix, an AI market-intelligence platform that listens to spoken market commentary, scores the panic in it and turns live financial news into trading insight. We didn't finish on the clock. I finished it afterwards. 🔥

A fintech hackathon organised by Evolve AI, my own club at Chitkara, together with Finvasia. Our pitch: finance apps shouldn't feel like slot machines, because money is social. We built BODHI ("Your money. Alive.") with group trip wallets, investment clubs with friends, insurance explained as stories and a voice AI. This was the first time we built a real mobile app that actually felt like a product.

Back at Thapar two weeks after Eclipse, this time for Hackfest'26. The problem statements were handed out on the spot, and we had 24 hours. We built Sign Setu, which turns spoken English or Hindi into Indian Sign Language, signed by a 3D avatar right in the browser. Our friends had teams all around us, and it was amazing fun.

My first outstation offline hackathon: 24 hours at Thapar, Patiala. The brief was a real-time voice agent on a fine-tuned small language model. We built ASHA-VANI, an offline Hinglish voice assistant for ASHA health workers in rural India, with no internet needed. Every part worked on its own. Getting them all working together was the real boss fight.

Back for the second edition. NeuraCode 2.0 was the same idea, raised: logic questions, any language from Python, C, C++ or Java, and the clock. It pushed me to think critically and sharpen how I break a problem down. 💻

A pitch competition, not a build: act as startup founders and convince the judges your idea gets us closer to zero waste. Bhavishya and I pitched EcoGrid, an upcycled edge-compute micro-cloud that turns discarded phones and laptops into a liquid-cooled cluster for Edge AI. Two crises, one idea: the e-waste graveyard and the power drain of cloud data centers. 🌍

- Liquid Defense
The problem: an Android app that captures and explains network traffic per app, with no root access. Our answer was Liquid Defense, an on-device firewall where a continuous-time "liquid" neural network watches the rhythm between packets and a C++ tap reads them straight off the VPN. It was my first mobile app. We didn't make it past the online round, and the trip to NIT Hamirpur stayed a daydream.

The hackathon where we went properly deep into research. We built Fractal Fire Mamba, a forest fire detection network that uses state space models and chaos theory to tell a real fire from fog, dust or car exhaust, and keeps alerting even after the fire destroys nodes. We did it on our first all-nighter, half asleep in the university library.

Christmas Eve 2025, spent doing what I love: coding. NeuraCode 1.0 was a logical coding competition where the language was up to you, Python, C, C++ or Java, as long as you solved the questions. An intense session, and a good way to wrap up the year. 🎄

My second hackathon and my first shot at Smart India Hackathon. We pitched AyurSutra, a platform for Panchakarma therapy centres, in the university's internal round and didn't make the cut. It's also the hackathon where an AI tool built our whole app in minutes, and changed how I think about building.
